MaidThis Cleaning Durham works with seasoned cleaners who fully understand the difference between regular and turnover cleanings. They know exactly what they need to do and how to do it to ensure your and your guests’ safety and satisfaction.
Please notify us about any unique features of your property, as well as any special cleaning methods or supplies you’d like us to use. We will make sure your cleaners are aware of these factors so as to ensure optimal results every time.
Does MaidThis Cleaning Durham provide cleaning supplies?
Yes, your cleaners will bring all the necessary cleaning tools and products with them. The only supplies you should provide are the dishwasher soap, the trash can liner, and laundry detergent.
What if my cleaner makes a mistake?
At MaidThis Cleaning Durham, we include a 100% satisfaction guarantee with every service. Should your cleaners ever miss a mark, please let us know and we will promptly fix the problem free of charge.
That being said, you should also remember that a turnover cleaning service isn’t the same as a deep cleaning service. If you want your short-term rental to receive an extra-thorough deep cleaning, make sure to notify us in advance.

How will my cleaners gain access to my vacation rental?
Most short-term rental owners either hide a key somewhere or place it in a lockbox. If you have a lockbox, please notify your cleaners about its location and how to open it. Your cleaners will not hold onto any spare keys, but having backups is still recommended.
How far in advance should I book my cleaning service?
All cleaning should be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. That being said, to ensure optimal results, you should book your appointment as early as possible.
Last-minute bookings in under 48 hours are risky because we can’t guarantee your cleaners will be available. If you need a same-day cleaning, get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to meet your needs.
How do I cancel a cleaning service?
MaidThis Cleaning Durham has a no-cancellation-fee policy if you cancel your service visit at least 24 hours earlier. Same-day cancellations and cancellations on the day before after 4pm are subject to a $30 cancellation fee.
Are laundry services available?
Of course! The standard vacation rental cleaning package includes 1-3 full loads of laundry. Additional loads are charged at $10 per load. If washing machines are available on-site or in the building, there won’t be any additional fees. However, if the cleaners need to visit a laundromat, you will be charged another $10.
What’s more, if you don’t have any laundry, we’ll provide you with a discount!
How do I book a vacation rental cleaning?
All you have to do is give MaidThis Cleaning Durham a call! After we have familiarized ourselves with your cleaning needs, we will be able to set up a house cleaning appointment that works for you and personalize your service for maximum value.
Can I give the cleaners my own custom cleaning checklist?
No, that’s not how we operate. The cleaners we work with follow the checklist you can find on our Pricing & Services page. Of course, this checklist can be personalized to an extent to meet the unique needs and layout of your short-term vacation rental.
Will my cleaners always arrive on time?
MaidThis Cleaning Durham isn’t able to guarantee the precise starting time of your vacation rental cleaning service due to the unpredictability of traffic conditions. That being said, we have a Never ‘No Show’ Policy, which guarantees that you will ALWAYS receive your cleaning before your guests arrive.
Does MaidThis Cleaning Durham employ its own cleaners?
We do not. MaidThis Cleaning Durham is a referral agency. As such, we don’t employ “Independent Cleaning Professionals”, but rather carefully vet them before making them a part of our platform and referring them to our clients.
Do you have an Availability Guarantee?
We sure do! As long as you book at least 48 hours in advance, we will GUARANTEE that we will send cleaners to your location.
If you book less than 48 hours in advance, MaidThis Cleaning Durham cannot guarantee availability. However, we will do everything within our power to fulfill your request.
What if I have TOO MUCH laundry?
No problem! The standard turnover package includes a load of laundry per room (eg., 3BR rental – 3 loads of laundry, 2BR rental – 2 loads, etc.).
If you have a truly excessive amount of laundry to wash, MaidThis Cleaning Durham charges $10 per additional load.
How do you deal with damages?
Your cleaners will examine your property for any damages your guests may have caused. That being said, they may not be able to spot everything every single time, so they can’t be held responsible for any damages your guests have failed to report.
When will the cleaners arrive at my vacation rental?
Here at MaidThis Cleaning Durham, we understand that the cleaners we team up with may not always be able to arrive right on time due to unpredictable traffic conditions. That’s why we always schedule short-term rental cleanings in a way that ensures your cleaners will have enough time to thoroughly clean your place even if they’re a little late.
What will the cleaners do if they can’t enter my property?
If your cleaners are unable to access your property due to a missing key or code, they will spend the next 30 minutes trying to get in touch with you. They will wait at your property if you are able to deliver the key. Keep in mind that you’ll be subject to an additional $40 hourly fee if your cleaners need to wait for the key or a $50 fee if you opt to cancel or reschedule.
Don’t worry if you’re unable to deliver the key. Simply contact our office and our team from Operations will do their best to send another cleaner to your vacation rental property.
What will the cleaners do if the previous guests ruined the place?
If your previous guests have left your property in an absolutely dismal state, don’t panic! For an extra $80, your cleaners will spend a few additional hours to give your property a deep cleaning and document all damages. This will make sure your place is ready for the next check-in and also give you the proof you need for when you request compensation for the damages.
What if my guests complain about the cleaning of my vacation rental?
If a guest is unsatisfied with the service your cleaners have provided, we will send another cleaner to reclean the place for the guest, and we’ll do it for FREE.
However, if the guest is still unhappy and decides to cancel the reservation, MaidThis Cleaning Durham cannot be held responsible for any expenses you may incur as a result.
